## Night Bracing vs Full-Time Bracing: What’s the Difference?

The Charleston brace is commonly described as a bending brace. It positions the body into an overcorrected side-bending posture during sleep and is often used for certain single-curve patterns, including some lumbar and thoracolumbar curves.

Its design focuses heavily on lateral bending to achieve correction while the patient is lying down.

### Providence Brace

The Providence brace uses a different biomechanical approach. Rather than primarily bending the body laterally, it applies direct translational and de-rotational forces to guide the curve toward midline alignment.
